Alexis and Brian are high school sweethearts, however, they have known each other a lot longer. They both have fond memories of one another from elementary school days – one possibly involving mustard.

Alexis & Brian
We clicked instantly. From out first meet up at Watershed Cafe in Langley, we quickly learned we all had a lot in common. The first being that my father and Alexis’ mother worked together. A small world, indeed. The commonalities didn’t end there. Alexis, who recently finished her masters to become a librarian, has a lot of knowledge about books that I could listen to for hours on end as an avid reader myself. Brian is finishing his schooling to become a police officer. Growing up in a family full of first responders and dating a firefighter, we had lots to talk about.
For our engagement shoot we had planned to do a hike up in Golden Ears. However, the weather was not on our side and we decided to switch it up to Fort Langley, where Alexis grew up. We had a lot of fun exploring and had perfect cloudy weather for a moody engagement session.
We visited the actual Fort, found some lovely ivy, made our way to Derby beach, read a few books in Wendle’s Bookstore & Cafe and ended at Blacksmiths Bakery to warm up with a couple London Fog’s and a latte. It was a fantastic day and the one year countdown until there wedding has recently started. I am super excited to be able to capture their big day!
